What you need

• A device with a browser. Tor Browser runs on Windows, macOS, Linux and Android. There is no official iOS build.
• The address. It is in the box above and on every page of this site.
• A few minutes. The first load of an onion through a fresh circuit is slow.

Step by step

1. Get Tor Browser from torproject.org and open it. Not a regular browser with a VPN, not an extension that claims to route through Tor. The page shows Connected when the circuit is ready.
2. Put the full .onion address in the address bar, including the .onion at the end, and press Enter.
3. Wait. The page can sit on loading for a while, especially the first time. A minute or two is not a failure. Killing it and retrying just builds another circuit and starts the clock again.
4. When the market loads, you are in. The entry page has a login option and a registration option if you have no account yet. From here on, this site has nothing to do with the visit.

First visit versus coming back

A first visit looks like a fresh install: no saved state, no bookmarks, the default layout. Come back later through the same address and the site remembers you. If the market looks completely empty after you were logged in yesterday, check the address bar before you assume anything broke. A different address is a different site, even when the branding is pixel for pixel identical.

On a phone

Tor Browser on Android works the same way: install it from F-Droid or the Play Store, paste the address, wait. The mobile version of the market is the same store in a narrower layout. iPhone users usually do this on a desktop, because there is no official Tor Browser for iOS.

When it refuses to load

“No route to host” and “Site can’t be reached” are usually circuit problems, not dead mirrors. The fix list is on the troubleshooting page. The short version: try the second address, force a new circuit, wait.
